The Oude Steen (Old Castle) is one of the oldest prisons in Europe. The building has been renovated and transformed into a torture museum, with an extraordinary collection of artefacts and lifelike wax sculptures that shed a light on the controversial use of torture, where it was once thought that the end– justice – justified the means.
